We at Prospering Families have been fascinated and motivated by Aesop’s tale of the Ant and the Grasshopper:
In a field one summer’s day a grasshopper was hopping about chirping and singing to its heart’s content. An ant passed by carrying an apple with great toil to the nest.
“Why not come and chat with me,” asked the grasshopper, “instead of toiling and moiling in that way?”
“I am helping to lay up food for the winter” said the ant, “and I recommend you do the same!”
“Why bother about winter when we have plenty of food at present?”
But the ant went on its way and continued its toil. When the winter came the grasshopper had no food, and found itself dying of hunger. The ants, on the other hand, were distributing food every day from the stores they had collected in the summer. Then the grasshopper knew:
“It’s best to prepare for the days of necessity.”
There seems to be a mindset among so many where you either focus on being happy now, or you focus on preparing for the future. People don’t realize that it isn’t quite that black and white. It is possible to enjoy life now, while being ready for the future.
It is Prospering Families’ goal to convert families to the idea of Planning Better, Shopping Better, and Living Better. We want our family, friends, and clients to feel empowered as they learn the skills of planning and shopping to create a more prosperous future for their families.
With no control of the world around us—having skills for your family to live with less stress is imperative.
We are here to help you do just that.
