Having Fun in NYC!

I had an awesome opportunity to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary with my husband, Treg in NYC this past August.  We decided to go to New York City and paint the town!  Here are some pictures of us having fun in NYC:

We got to go to the first show of David Letterman's last season. I actually got to ask David a question and he responded. I got quite excited when he asked my name.

The Statue of Liberty was an AMAZING sight!

Crazy loud and busy - but one must experience it sometime in their life

I was able to use some of my savings from grocery shopping to pay for some of the fun things we did.

I was able to drag my husband (who actually went willingly) to the store featured on Project Runway. This is Oscar de la Rente material that was $18 a yard. Not sure what I am going to do with it yet...

I know that some will take the savings that they got at the grocery store (you can find that at the bottom of the receipt) and then put that amount in a special account set aside for something.  Maybe it is a new appliance (which could be fun) or a new water heater (not necessarily fun, but cold water ISN’T fun when showering) or a new car or a trip.  Years ago, my mother took her savings and money from rebates and went to her home country of Finland!

Share what you are saving for… and others can encourage you along!
